FLG Lacrosse holds tryouts for our Girls Select Teams each year. Our program is built for serious athletes who want to compete at the highest level — from kindergarten through high school — with a demanding, year-round curriculum focused on elite skill development, high-level competition, college recruiting support, and building the character of a champion.

2036 & 2037 Select Teams — Year-Round Membership

FLG’s 2036 and 2037 Select Teams are built for the most competitive young players on Long Island — athletes who are hungry to grow, willing to put in the work, and serious about reaching the highest level of the game. This isn’t just a lacrosse team; it’s an elite development program led by some of the best coaches on Long Island, training players year-round with a championship mindset, top-tier instruction, and a culture rooted in accountability, toughness, and team-first mentality.

Our 2037 teams are coached by Pete Trombino, Leigh Motley, Kim Davino, PJ DiConza, and Paul Macerino. Our 2036 teams are coached by Doug Kocis, Libby Courtemanche, Matt Buttafuoco, Corey Winkoff, and Spencer Butwin. These coaches don’t just develop lacrosse players — they develop athletes. Every session, every tournament, and every rep is designed to accelerate skill, sharpen IQ, and build the competitive edge that separates good players from great ones. If your daughter is driven to be her best and wants to play at the highest level, this is where she belongs.

Goalie Development

Our goalies receive dedicated development training from elite coaching staff, giving them the specialized attention and tools they need to excel at the position.

FLG 2039/38 Love Lax — Youth Development Program

FLG Love Lax is where it all begins. Designed for our youngest athletes (grades K–2), the Love Lax program introduces girls to lacrosse through fun, high-energy sessions that build the foundational skills, athleticism, and love for the game that will carry them through their entire lacrosse journey. Led by Corey Winkoff and Tim McAleavey, Love Lax is more than a beginner program — it’s the first step on the path to elite lacrosse.

Our coaching staff doesn’t just teach lacrosse — they inspire athletes. From the very first practice, FLG Love Lax players are introduced to the same high standards, competitive spirit, and team culture that define every FLG program. Great athletes start somewhere, and this is where FLG’s champions begin.

Custom Team Gear

Every FLG Select Team player receives a full custom gear package including: reversible jersey, game shorts, sweatshirt, sweat pants, shooting shirt, and backpack. Goalies who make a Select Team also receive a custom Cascade goalie helmet with decals and throat guard.

Goalie Development

FLG’s goalie development program is led by Lisa Christiansen, former USA goalie coach and longtime collegiate/high school varsity coach. Lisa provides exclusive on-field goalie training, seasonal Zoom sessions, alumni mentorship connections, and attends practices throughout the year.

College Recruiting Support

FLG’s Girls Director of Recruiting, Dawn Sachs, is a 2x NCAA Division II National Champion, 5x ECC Coach of the Year, and current Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Mercy University. She works directly with FLG families to navigate the college recruiting process. FLG has placed 70+ players into college programs since 2017.
