Christian Michaels Director of Player Development
Christian Michaels joined the FLG Lacrosse staff in 2023 and currently serves as the program’s Director of Player Development. In addition to his director role, Michaels is the Head Coach of the FLG 2027 White team, Head Coach of the FLG 2029 Jumbos, and Associate Head Coach of the FLG 2031 team.
Playing Career
Christian enjoyed a decorated collegiate playing career at both the Division I and Division II levels. He began his career at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where he was a member of the 2020 & 2021 Retrievers men’s lacrosse team, before transferring to Molloy University to continue his career with the Lions.
During his four seasons at Molloy, Christian established himself as one of the most accomplished goalkeepers in program history. His accolades include:
- 3x Team Captain
- 2x USILA All-American (Third Team, 2025; Honorable Mention, 2024)
- 4x All-Conference selection (All-ECC First Team, 2025; Second Team 2022, 2023, 2024)
- 2025 ECC Goalkeeper of the Year
- 2025 ECC Tournament Most Outstanding Player
- 2025 ECC Conference Champion
- 2025 USILA All-North Second Team
- Molloy’s all-time program leader in career saves
- Ranked fifth nationally in goals-against average and sixth in save percentage (2025)
- Program record for saves in a single game (24)
Coaching Career
Christian brings a player-first development philosophy focused on building lacrosse IQ, mastering the fundamentals, and developing skills that translate beyond the field. In addition to his work at FLG, Christian serves as an Assistant Coach for the St. Anthony’s High School Girls Varsity Lacrosse program — a nationally recognized powerhouse that has recently posted perfect, national championship-winning seasons — where he specializes in goalie and defensive development. He also is the Co-Founder of Supreme Lacrosse Academy, a Long Island-based training program dedicated to reimagining player development through a constraints-led approach.
