With the 2019 season coming to a close on Long Island, it is awesome season to reflect back on, and look on with excitement to the teams that came out victorious within the counties, headed onto the LICs and eventually to States. There has been games won by large margins, teams making noise and hanging onto to the moment, as well as upsets that are definitely worth remembering. However with all that aside, each Class was able to crown a victor! Check out to see all the Championship winners as well as the games that LILJ was able to cover and witness history in the making.
Nassau Boys:
- Class A: Back and forth action, Massapequa was able to remain at the top of Class A, warding off Syosset by a score of 11 to 8
- Class B: Making the necessary adjustments, Manhasset was LOCKDOWN, and able to hold GC scoreless for 3 quarters, pulling out the victory in double overtime for the win by a score of 6 to 5
- Class C: CSH Seahawks controlling the pace all game long were able to win Class C by a score of 15 to 9 against Locust Valley
- Class D: Battling all season long, Oyster Bay will face Mattituck in the Class D Long Island Championship
Nassau Girls:
- Class A: The Dale holds on and takes the victory in Nassau A over Massapequa by a score of 9 to 8
- Class B: Back and forth action, The Indians of Manhasset were able to beat GC for the second time this season by a score of 13 to 12
- Class C: The Seahawks of CSH once again show that they are the top team in Class C, edging Wantagh by a score of 10 to 7
- Class D: Holding on, Carle Place Frogs jumped into victory by winning it in OT against Oyster Bay by a score of 9 to 8
Suffolk Boys:
- Class A: Germain to Gillen, Ward Melville wins it in overtime over Smithtown West by a score to 10 to 9
- Class B: Harborfields secures the victory over East Islip by a score of 11 to 6
- Class C: Overtime Victory, Cimino puts it in the net from a stellar feed by Arline to give SWR the victory over Mt. Sinai by a score of 14 to 13
- Class D: Mattituck with a solid win over Port Jeff by a score of 14 to 10
Suffolk Girls:
- Class A: Nothport Tigers take Class A over Middle Country by a score of 13 to 7
- Class B: ESM holds on and wins it over West Babylon in a solid defensive stand by a score of 8 to 7
- Class C: BBP knocks off Mt. Sinai to take Class C in thrilling fashion by a score of 6 to 5
- Class D: Mattituck shows its dominance over Babylon, winning by a score of 12 to 3
