With so much talent on this beautiful island, picking the First and Second All- Long Island GOAT teams was a difficult and daunting task however FLG Lacrosse and the Long Island Lacrosse Journal feels that they have comprised a well rounded list that demonstrates and recognizes talent from all over the Island, in all counties, conferences and divisions.
What does it mean to be a GOAT? While one may say you need the staats, we do not believe that this is the only category the defines a great players. What are his/her intagibles? Are they a good Leader? What type of student are they? When the game is on the line, does this player step up to the challenge?
While not every GOAT Checks every box, FLG and the LILJ feels that the players comprised on this list have demonstrated exemplary play, and control the pace for their squads, being relied to get the job done, or play vital roles to the teams success. Possess intangibles that not the average player has, and are recommended by their HS coaching staff.
FLG Lacrosse and the Long Island Lacrosse Journal congratulates all GOAT’s that made the All- Long Island Teams.
“Literally does it all, faces off, plays offense, man down and just an animal between the lines. Sets the tone for the team. The kind of grinder that makes a team sucessful.”
–Eric Dunne, Assistant Coach Farmingdale
“Swiss army knife player. Athletic enough to do everything well. A true grinder, he’s the type of guy we can rely on to always bring the energy and fight.”
–Mike Hungerford, Head Coach Farmingdale
“She is the heart and soul of the team. Puts the team on her back day in and day out. She refuses to lose and is my coach out on the field. I’ve never coached a defender like her in my life. There’s nothing she can’t do.”
–Robyn Pastuch, Head Coach Wantagh
