John Whelan graduated in 2019 from Manhasset HS, the defender and long-pole midfielder also played football and basketball in high school. Now, Whelan attends the University of Virginia, where he plays on the men’s club lacrosse team.

FLG Coaches Feature: Andrew Benazzi

Andrew Benazzi is FLG’s acting Director of Roots and head coach of the 2030 team. The Glen Cove native is a Chaminade alum and played division I lacrosse the University of Delaware from 2000-2004. The former blue hen also spent three years as the Chaminade High School head coach after graduating from his alma mater.

FLG Alumni Feature: Kevin Winkoff

FLG Lacrosse alum, Kevin Winkoff was a three sport varsity athlete at Cold Spring Harbor. Since graduating in 2018, Winkoff has made a name for himself among the Binghamton Bearcats’ Division I lacrosse program. The junior attacker appeared in all 13 games with 7 starts his freshman season before his sophomore season was prematurely cancelled
